First PTO meeting of the year!

Don’t forget:

The first PTO meeting of the school year is  Thursday September 1st at 7:00 in the College Square cafeteria! We’re excited to kick-off the new school year and look forward to seeing you there!

If you’ve started your Back-to-School shopping, don’t forget to download the BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION app and scan your receipts to earn money for College Square!
A few helpful tips:
  1. Receipts need to be submitted within 14 days of purchase to be eligible.
  2. Digital receipts can be submitted as well paper receipts.
-If you receive a paper receipt, a quick scan with the Box Tops app will identify participating products and automatically credit your school’s earnings online.
-For digital receipts from most retailers EXCEPT Walmart, Instacart & Amazon:
1. Make sure you have a Box Tops for Education account (you can create one by downloading the Box Tops app)
2. Open your email and locate your emailed order confirmation you’d like to submit for Box Tops within 14 days of purchase. When you find it, just forward the confirmation email directly to this email address:
Be sure to use the same email that’s associated with your BTFE account. You can look up your email associated with your BTFE account by opening the Box Tops app, then tapping on the profile icon in the upper right-hand corner. You’ll see your name and email address at the top of the Account screen. If the email that you received the e-receipt at does not match your Box Tops account email, please follow the steps below instead to submit via our Contact Us form.
3. That’s it! You will receive an email confirmation of your submission. Valid Box Tops will typically be credited within 1 day – you can view your earnings detail in the ‘My Earnings’ section of the app.
-For digital receipts from Walmart, Instacart & Amazon (or if you have issues with forwarding your email via the steps above):
The emailed receipts from these retailers unfortunately only show the first few items of your purchase. This makes it hard for the Box Tops app to validate any items beyond that point. In order to get credited for the Box Tops you deserve, we ask that you follow these steps. Please stay tuned; we’re working to make this process easier for you!
1. Take a screen shot (or multiple) of your entire receipt from your online purchase, including retailer name, all items, transaction total, and date of purchase. If you have a PDF version of your full receipt, that works too!
2. Navigate to the Contact Us page on, or open the Box Tops app and navigate to your Account, then ‘Contact Us ’.
3. Select the “Submit a Digital Receipt” option from the main drop down.
4. Fill out the inputs, using the “Upload Attachment” feature to add the screen shot(s) of your entire receipt.
5. In order to receive Box Tops as soon as possible, it’s helpful to add how many earnings you should receive in the Comments Box of the form. Don’t forget to include Bonus Box Tops!
6. Upon review of your submission by our Customer Service team, you will receive an email confirmation and any eligible earnings will be reflected in the ‘My Earnings’ section of your app.

21-22 School Year End

We made it!
2021-2022 school year is a wrap!
Here is a recap of our income and expenses this school year…
Total amount fundraised: $21,910.95
Biggest fundraiser: $9,068.64, The Fun Run
Of our money spent…
~63% went towards student activities: Fun Day, class parties, assemblies, Beaver Tales, field trips, field trip transportation, behavior incentives, family night, etc
~35% went towards building/teacher supplies and staff appreciation: staff luncheons, staff gift cards, construction paper for the classrooms, mulch for the playground, custodian dinner, staff appreciation week activities, Frye transportation breakfast, etc
~2% administrative costs: insurance, taxes, website fees
Biggest expense category: Field trip admission and transportation, $7,855.65
2nd biggest expense category: Fun Day/class parties, $6,649.53

We are also grateful for our school partners, too: teachers, teaching assistants, therapists, counselor, cafeteria monitors, subs, hall monitors, custodial staff, food service staff, our secretaries, special teachers, our principals, Frye transportation, superintendents, and our school board directors.
What a beautiful and supportive PTO College Square has! Thank you all for being apart of this special group.

Moving On Assembly

Today was such a special day for 2nd graders at College Square.
Because this cohort of children had no Kindergarten celebration and every school year was truly abnormal, today we celebrated their time at College Square and bid farewell to them as they move on to their next adventure at Dutch Ridge.
This assembly was a labor of love and came together beautifully because of all the parent volunteers, the staff, administration, custodians, and community partners. And the students!!! They worked so so so hard on their song and readings. They deserve all the kudos today!
There are so many thank you’s for todays success…
Huge thank you to Pizza Joe’s for the pre-assembly pizza party.
And thank you to the community partners who donated to our kids amazing swag bags: Crave, Pizza Joes, Castle Toys, Wendy’s, Frontier Falls, Beavtown, Spokane orthodontics, C&S sports.
Parents. You are amazing. So many of you showed up to stuff the swags, to hand out pizza, to decorate, to practice with our kids, all the things. You were the magic behind this event. And huge thank you to the Rush Family for the amazing memories video. It was so special.
The year couldn’t have ended better for these precious ones. We hope you all loved the assembly and the kids loved their swag bags. We wish so much luck and love to our 2nd graders moving on to Dutch Ridge.

Fun Day Volunteers

Important things to remember:
– Please have your child wear socks on the day of if they want to go on the inflatables
– Please, please, please make sure the district has your clearances on file if you want to volunteer. 🙂
– We can add more volunteer slots. 14/15 volunteers is the minimum people we need each shift but if your slot gets filled up, let me know and we can open some more slots. 🙂

April 2022 PTO Meeting

Due to Spring Break, our next PTO meeting will be held Thursday, April 21st at 7:00 in the College Square Cafeteria. Lots of end- of-the-year fun activities to discuss and the executive board election is tonight too! Hope to see you there!

Spring 2022 Rosalind Candy Pickup

Tomorrow (April 7th) is Rosalind Candy Pick up!
Please come between 3:30-5:00pm to the College Square conference room. This is through the court yard on the College Ave side of the building in between the steps and the 1st grade wing.
**We welcome any volunteers that want to come and help distribute as well** 🙂 🙂 🙂

Spring 2022 Events and Updates


Thank you all who attended last weeks PTO meeting. It was full of lots of great information. Field trips are back (YAY!) and so many in person things are in the works.

Some reminders for this week:
-Monday 3/21 is Rock your Socks Day to celebrate and honor Down Syndrome Awareness day!
Rosalind Candy orders are due Wednesday 3/23! 🙂 This is our last fundraiser of the year! Let’s fill up those baskets/spring gifts by supporting our school and ordering chocolate.

We are actively seeking out several committees and groups of volunteers. Please let us know if you are interested in any of the following *You can head this group, you can be a volunteer, you can offer ideas/be a planner.
**2nd grade moving on activities: We are looking to do an assembly that would involve decorating/planning, put together/assemble treats and gifts
**Family Fun Spring Festival: Date probably the first week of May. Also tied to the book fair- will offer book fair walk through with families.
**End of the Year FUN Day for students: We are looking for a group to help plan out the last week of school’s fun day) Tentatively May 31st.

****Reach out to We will not be asking staff or teachers to be planning any of the above events, FYI. These will be PTO sponsored, organized and executed.


March 2022 PTO Meeting

Our next PTO meeting will be held on Thursday, March 17th at 7pm, in the cafeteria. A virtual option will be available.
We will be talking about our big spring event, teacher appreciation, book fair and elections. Please check the Facebook group for more information, or email if you would like the virtual link emailed directly to you.

Valentine Parties 2022

The sign up for Valentine’s Day parties has been posted in our closed Facebook group and can be found here. Please reach out with any questions. We look forward to seeing some parent volunteers in the classrooms again!
